Dino Run (also available here) is a very cute and fun retro-style side-scroller in which you control a velociraptor running away from the blast wave of an asteroid, trying to avoid the disaster that’s wiping out your (and other) species. It’s a style of game I haven’t played much in quite a while, and it’s a lot of fun.

Because it’s not actually a game made in the 80s, though, it’s got online multiplayer, and it’s also got a kind of “experience point” system to upgrade your velociraptor’s abilities and unlock new levels—not really the kind of thing you would have seen in an arcade game, and not quite in a computer game from the 80s either, I think.

In any case, I recommend it, and also recommend trying the different modes/levels, and advancing your dinosaur, because it does seem to get more rewarding as your “character” improves.

Now, if only I could figure out where the super eggs are…
