Short post today, I’m not feeling well. I’ll just point you to Jonathon Schwarz’s note regarding how National Review acknowledged serious errors in a piece of theirs reporting on Lebanon.

That appalling kind of bullshit always reminds me of the “these people only understand violence” line so beloved of colonial powers. It’s funny how so many ethnic groups only understand violence until they get to run their own affairs, at which point some of them (not all, because not all regions get through the recovery process so well) are suddenly able to understand things perfectly fine.
